READERS

READERS are located in the Global Learning Room on the second floor of the Main Library Building 1.
Additionally, there are e-books available online.

Learning Methods

Start by reading simple texts

The spines of the “readers” have stickers indicating their respective levels.
From simplest to most complex: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, no sticker. Books without stickers are general.
The number affixed to the upper right corner of the cover indicates the word count.

Please start by reading the red text first.
After reading 25,000 words from the Red Level books, please proceed to the next Orange Level.
Once you've finished reading the 75,000 words in the orange level, please proceed to the yellow level.

Once you've finished reading up to the blue level, please choose whatever you like.
You may use documents found online, books without stickers, or return to a level you previously finished.
It's best to keep reading for at least 90 minutes a week.

Choose interesting and easy-to-read books

If you find a book difficult, boring, or not to your liking, stop reading it and choose another one.
You won't be able to keep going if it's not interesting, so look for books that are easy to read.
(However, since the red level is beginner, please persevere and keep reading even if it's not interesting).

Reading a book while listening to a CD

If you find a book difficult, boring, or not to your liking, stop reading it and choose another one.
Using both the book and CD together can sometimes help you read more difficult sentences than using the book alone.
Using CDs also improves your listening skills.
Try all three of the following patterns and find your own study method.

Set goals

For example, having goals like “read up to this level by a certain month” or “read several thousand words each week” will help you make better progress.
