Library Card
Tohoku University students and staff are required to have a magnetic identification card issued by Tohoku University in order to use the library.
Those who do not have the card (part-time lecturers, researchers, trainees, non-degree students, special auditing students, etc.) should apply for a library card.
*If you are a faculty or staff member and do not have an employee ID card, please check beforehand with your General Affairs Section as it might be possible to issue one for you.
How to apply
If you wish to apply for a library card, please refer to one of the methods listed below.
* The application is limited to those affiliated with faculties, graduate schools, and centers in the Kawauchi area, as well to the Graduate School of Life Sciences in Katahira.
* Depending on the browser you are using or the settings of your smartphone or PC, you may not be able to enter the information using the "Library Card Application Form". In such cases, please apply by using the "Library Card Registration Application”.

*You will receive a confirmation email with the information you have entered.
*As soon as the library card is ready, the Main Library will contact you by e-mail via your Tohoku University e-mail address. Please come to the Main Counter of the Main Library with your confirmation documents.

* Please print out a copy and bring it to the Main Counter of the Main Library with your confirmation documents.
Documents required to receive the library card
Faculty and staff: Documents confirming the affiliation to Tohoku University and the period of employment.Researchers: Documents that can confirm your laboratory affiliation and period of stay, or a certificate from the person in charge of your laboratory, etc.
Graduate students, undergraduate students, research students, non-degree students, etc.: Student ID card or other document that confirms your affiliation and the period of enrollment.
