Closing schedule during the winter holidays
- Agricultural Library will be closed during the winter holidays as follows.

- Open : January 5, 2026 (Mon.) 9:00
- *The library is not available for anyone during the winter holidays.
- *Please check the library's calender.
No need to apply for after-hours use of the Agricultural Library
Students and faculty members of Tohoku University may use Aobayama Commons (including the Agricultura Library) after closing hours, regardless of their affiliated campus. No application is required.
- ※Please check the opening calendar for temporary closures or changes to opening hours.

Survey on loose-leaf publications subscription renewal now underway!（until December 12th）
We are considering discontinuing several loose-leaf publications/services that appear to have low usage.
If you are currently using any of the materials listed below, please vote for the titles you wish to keep.

[For faculty members] Book recommendations for students
- Please tell us books you recommend for students.
- We are also looking for genre recommendations.
- We would appreciate your cooperation.
- ＜Application period＞ Until November 12th, 2025
Choosing
- Please choose books or category of books you recommend for students.
- -The books should not necessarily be related to the curriculum.
- -Recommended books will be purchased within the acceptance criteria.
- *But some of those might not be purchased considering the library's budget.
- -You can choose any of the follwing: specialized books, liberal arts books and reference books.
- *Journals and yearbooks should be excluded from the recommendation list.
- -If there are any books you are going to list in the next syllabus, please add them to the recommendation list.
- *The books listed in the current syllabus have already been purchased except they are out of print.
- -Agricultural Library will featured a display of recommended books anonymously later.
Submitting
- Please fill in the Google Forms and send it.
- *You are available throughout the year for both of faculty members and students.
- Please use them when you find any books to recommend after the due date.
Book Select Event 2025 is being held! (until December 12th)
Starting today, we will be holding the "Book Select Event 2025" at the Agricultural Library,
where you can use stickers to vote for books you want added to the collection.
There are list of books related to the field of agriculture
on the 1st floor of the Agricultural Library.
Please vote！
Complete closure due to the renewal of entrance/exit system（December 3）
Due to the renewal of entrance/exit system, Aobayama Commons（including the Agricultural Library）will be completely closed as follows.

Use of the library when the service desk is closed
- Members of Graduate School of Agricultural Science and Faculty of Agriculture and those applying for "after-hours use" can use the library when the service desk is closed (7:00-24:00).
- However, please note that the library is not availble for anyone during the following dates and times due to planned poweroutages.
- Friday 29 August, 17:00 - Monday 1 September, 9:00
Due date
- If you borrow books between Wednesday 23 July and Wednesday 24 September, the due date is Wednesday 8 October.
- *The loan period of serials, the shared stack room's books and other libraries' books is two weeks.
- *If you are leaving the university before Wednesday 8 October, please return books before then.
Temporary suspension of eduroam connection due to maintenance work (April 24)
