HOSTED PRRLA Annual Meeting 2025

In honor of our collaboration, Tohoku University Library hosted the PRRLA Annual Meeting 2025 from October 29 to 31, 2025.
The event welcomed 60 in-person attendees and more than 40 online participants.
The Pacific Rim Research Libraries Alliance (PRRLA) consists of 43 libraries from various Pacific Rim countries.

The theme for 2025 was "Preserving Culture, Driving Discovery: PRRLA Libraries in the Age of Digital and AI Innovations," which included four sub-themes:

Digital Preservation

AI and Discovery Tools

AI and Cultural Exchange

Digitaization and Collaboration

A total of 19 presentations were conducted, including those by online participants.
Numerous initiatives utilizing Artificial Intelligence(AI) were shared, and engaging Q&A sessions followed, demonstrated the participants' strong interest in AI.

We offered library tours and Japanese cultural experiences as part of the program, which participants enjoyed.
