[Main Lib.] Resumption of Group Study Activities in the Main Library

Group activities inside the Library, which have been restricted due to the COVID-19 pandemic, will be resumed. The main changes are as follows.

Resumption of event use

  • In addition to class use, the acceptance of student reservations for events, club activities, etc., will also be resumed.
  • Places that allow these activities include: Multi-Purpose Room (Max: 80 persons), Global Learning Room (Max: 80 persons), and Flexible Work Area (Max: 60 persons).
  • Reservation starts from Oct 2. Please book at lease two weeks in advance, but no earlier than six months.
  • Please apply using the Library Facilities Event Use Application Form or contact the main counter.
  • About Group Activities and Conversation Rules

  • The Box Seats must be used by at least 3 persons, but at most 6 persons. Reservations are required at least one day in advance. It is okay to use the seats if somebody in your group leaves early, but if the number of participants drops to 2, we will terminate the event.
  • When using the Box Seats, Group Study Rooms and Private Research Rooms, please show IDs of all members such as student ID card, staff ID card or library card.
  • Only graduate students and faculty members can use Private Research Rooms. Please book two weeks in advance. Conversations are not allowed in those rooms.
  • If you want to participate in online meetings or classes, you can also use the balcony seats on the 2nd floor at your right-hand side of the entrance, or the Global Learning Room. No reservation is required, and conversation on online is allowed there.
  • The Lounge will continue to be a place to eat your meal by yourself. Please refrain from using the Lounge for anything other than meals during busy times.
