■Borrowing

Only books and a few AV materials can be borrowed.      Periodicals or reference books may not be checked out.      When you borrow, bring books to the circulation desk or using self-checkout machine with your library card.      Self-checkout machine is available 24 hours. You can borrow books which the bar-code label is on cover any time.      (In case of the books which with inside label, bring to the counter in open hours.)   □  Loan periods      Undergraduate students = 5 books : 2 weeks.      Academic staff and graduate school students = 10 books : 2 weeks.      *Loan periods, the number of items you can borrow and penalties are different for each library.     ○  example        An undergraduate student can borrow 5 books for 2 weeks at the Kita-Aobayama library        + 5 items for 3 weeks at the Main library.   □  Renewals      Books may be renewed by using "MyLibrary" or bringing them to the counter, as long as they have not been reserved.

■Returns

During opening hours, books should be returned to the counter.      When the library is closed, users may return books to the book drop beside the front door.      All items you borrowed other libraries on Tohoku University are accepted to return.      (All items you borrowed from Kita-Aobayama library are accepted to return to those libraries.)

■Reservation

Books which are checked out by others can be reserved. When the books are returned, we keep them and notify you.      To request an item, click the "Request" in the results of the Online Catalog.      You can also apply at the counter.

■Delivery

Books in other libraries can be deliveried. See details from here (Japanese)      You can also apply at the counter.

■Penalty

If you have overdue items, you cannot borrow new ones until they are returned.

■Items outside the Kita-Aobayama library

If you want to borrow items from libraries on this campus other than the Kita-Aobayama library     (for example, a department or laboratory library), please ask at the counter.
