Document supply and inter library loan

• If you can't find what you are seeking in our library, you can request the photocopy of articles or inter library loan service from other libraries.
• Document supply
• You can specify the target page (papers or articles) from the materials, and request to send its copy from other libraries.
• In the case of ask to library in the Tohoku University, the fee is different to the case of ask to other university libraries.
• The number of days required is usually about one week, it might take more time.
• If you are paying by laboratory budget, the material is not in Japan, you can also request a copy to the British Library in the UK.
• When you request, you can choose the range by within the Tohoku University or within Japan or included foreign country.
• Inter library loan service
• You can ask to mail the materials from other university libraries, and borrow a certain period of time.
• You can borrow only books, but can not borrow serials.
• Borrowing period is about 10 to 20 days.
• You can not be ordered from abroad.
• If you want to use the books of other campuses, please request the service of send for books.

How to apply

• You can apply by "InterLibraryLoan/Photocopy Request" of "MyLibrary" or online catalog.
• You can check status by "Check Status of Loan/Photocopy".
• If you apply at the Service Desk, please fill out the "Application Form for photocopying".

Payment method

• Pay by laboratory budget
• The fee will be paid by laboratory budget once in three months.
• If you use laboratory budget, must ask permission to professor.
• Pay by private expense
• When you receive, you will pay in cash at the Service Desk.

Fees

• Photocopy
• Within Tohoku University : Black and white copy is 20 yen per sheet, color copy is 40 yen per sheet.
• Within Japan (Out of campus) : Black and white copy is 35 to 60 yen per sheet, color copy is 60 to 100 yen per sheet, plus postage.
• Foreign country (British Library) : 2,315 yen (Uniform within page 50). *Pay by laboratory budget only.
• Inter library loan
• Within Japan : Round-trip shipping costs (1,000 yen to 1,500 yen is common).
